  |     |   Local Events, Theatre and Dance

There is still time to catch the unique and wondrous experience of outdoor theatre at the new Oil Lamp Theatre Summer Venue! Check out Shipwrecked, running through August 29th in Glenview.

July 30th – August 29th

“I’m about to tell you a story. A fantastic and amazing story! A story all the more remarkable because every word of it is true.”

This show is based on the “true” story of the adventures of a Swiss explorer in the Asian-Pacific ocean. Based on the true story of the Swiss explorer who claimed to have daring adventures in the Asian-Pacific. Magic and adventure await in this whimsical tale, so come see Louis de Rougemont tell daring tales about the open seas. Islanders, exotic animals like wombats, sea turtles, and gigantic octopuses are all part of an oceanic setting in this exciting story. The mystery behind this intriguing explorer could be completely true or simply a con, and it’s up to you to decide. The Montgomery news calls this story quirky and wondrous, and the play explores how far we are willing to take a story in order to leave a mark and have an impact on the world we leave behind.
